Is this the right starting point?
Choose this if your first goal is to write and understand Python programs. If you want a wider introduction to how computers work, compare it with CS50x. That is an editorial distinction about scope, not a ranking of teaching quality.
Our suggested first milestone: write a small program that accepts input, checks it and produces a useful result. Return to it as you learn functions and testing, rather than collecting disconnected examples.
How to approach the work
Set aside separate sessions for watching, attempting problems and revising mistakes. Try a problem before consulting an explanation and keep a short note of the assumption that caused each bug. These are study suggestions, not a provider completion timetable.
Certificate and common questions
CS50’s Python FAQ distinguishes a free CS50 certificate from a paid edX verified certificate. The free route requires the coursework and final project to meet the course requirements; watching lectures alone is insufficient.
