Our decision guide

Choose CS50P if you want a focused introduction to Python with problem sets and a final project. Consider 100 Days of Code if a longer sequence of varied Python projects is the structure you want. That recommendation is based on the documented course scope, not a hands-on score or a universal winner.

Both can be relevant to a first Python journey. The useful question is whether your next step is a focused language foundation or sustained exposure to a wider set of applications.

What differs in practice

CS50P concentrates on programming concepts, debugging and testing. The 100 Days course moves through projects across multiple application areas. A broader scope offers more variety, but it also asks you to keep track of more tools; a narrower scope can make it easier to revisit core concepts.

Our suggestion is to preview one early exercise from each route and ask whether you could repeat the idea with different input. This is a selection exercise for you, not a claim that we have tested those lessons.

Time, price and certificate decisions

Ten weeks of CS50 materials and a 100-day project sequence are course structures, not equal units of workload or guaranteed completion dates. Allow time for independent attempts and debugging in either route.

CS50 OpenCourseWare is publicly available; its certificate requirements and paid edX verification are separate. Udemy checkout depends on the access offer shown to your account. No verified US checkout amount is available here, so this comparison does not manufacture a price advantage.

Before choosing

If you need a wider computer-science introduction, compare CS50x as a separate option. If you only want a short data-oriented introduction, the Python subject guide includes other learning formats.

Can you take both? Yes, but identify the gap the second course would fill. Repeating introductions without independent practice may add time without resolving that gap. We do not promise job readiness or rank certificates by employer value.
